Day #90

WOD

On the minute:

Complete 5 pull-ups & 7 kettlebell swings on the minute for 15 minutes.

results: 1.5pood / 14 full rounds + 5 pull ups

In the beginning of the workout Jared had me do 3 burpees since I only had a 1.5pood.  I’d say towards the middle of the workout it started to get difficult and so he cut the burpees out and I just completed the workout as is.  The burpees certainly made it more difficult.  Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned that I had a wild night on Saturday that included me getting escorted out of Red Rock during the BJ Penn fight.

This was my first WOD since Saturday and man it felt great.  I felt nauseous after the WOD but that all went away after I got some food in me.

Day #91

3 individually timed rounds of:
30 Double Unders
20 Plyo Push-ups
10 Tire Flips

*Perform a plyo push up by placing one hand on a 45 lbs plate and the other on the floor, perform an explosive push up that allows you to transition the hand on the floor to hand on the plate. (courtesy: CrossFit Football)

results: 2:14 / 2:19 / 1:21 (singles)

The double unders killed my time.  I can jump rope fairly easy but the double unders get the best of me.  During warm ups, I’m cool.  Maybe its a mind fuck now since I’ve done shitty lately with WODs that have DUs in them.  I need to practice!  The last round I decided to single skip it out.  I did 60 and it was all cherry from there.  Cherrray! (local slang)

I learned something new today!  Slamming the tire when doing tire flips prevents the tire from wobbling.  I like how it makes the loud bang justifying a successful slam.
